Rhyno Design is a website dedicated to website design and Internet marketing. The website was created as an area to showcase my website design and graphic design work. Additionally, Rhyno Design was created as an area for me to design, build, and learn new online marketing techniques and technologies. It sort of acts as my playground! The Notebook section is my weblog.
Who's Rhyno
Hello, I am Ryan Bickett, a professional website designer, graphic designer, and Internet marketing consultant living in Eden Prairie, Minnesota which is a suburb of Minneapolis. I have been working in the field of Internet marketing for about 7 years.
In addition to website design, graphic design, and Internet marketing, some of my other interests include playing the guitar, waterskiing, snowboarding, photography, scuba diving, and travel. I am also a big dog person and spend quite a bit of time playing with my dog, Neyla!
About the Web Site
Interested in learning more about how this site was created? As you can see, this site is still a work in progress (as most of my personal websites tend to be). I created the design using Photoshop and got the idea early on for using different colors to represent each of the main sections. Several other websites do this and I like how this approach improves navigation and reinforces where a user is within the site. Plus, I wanted to mess around with using CSS to create this effect.
Typically, I'll only design the main user interface elements before coding. Once that's complete or I have a good starting point, I'll begin coding the site in XHTML and CSS. I like to have the flexibility to tinker as I build the site. However, this doesn't always work when doing client work, but it's an approach I enjoy.
This site is currently a work in progress. I am in the process of building out the main sections. In addition, I'll be building out the Notebook section which is going to be my weblog. I had a previous blog setup with MovableType, but decided to make the switch to Wordpress for this version.
